The EGR valve and cooler are located on the lower left rear side of the engine. The side of the valve can been seen looking through the gap indicated by the box in the photo. Foy anyone wanting to attempt this as a DIY, I can confirm it a 6+ hour job, and requires a great deal of patience.

The vehicle consistently throw a DTC for Misfire on Cylinder 3, ONLY after ~5500 RPM. It goes into limp mode - EPC light on. Restarting it twice resets it and it drives well until hitting that RPM ceiling again. I changed the spark plug to a brand new Audi NGK and swapped coil plugs; also tried a brand new coil plug. Exact same behavior.

In combination with the automatically determined learning values of the engine control module the pre- and post-injections are being calculated individually for each valve. The behavior of an injection valve is also mileage dependent, so a valve with e.g. 10000 km has a different behavior then one with 70000 km.
Solenoid Valve Block The design of the solenoid block and its electric and pneumatic functions is identical to the 2011 Audi A8.
